Indoor Swimming Pool With Slides – The North Arundel Aquatic Center is an indoor water park located in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Anne Arundel County residents and non-residents may purchase a pass to access the water park during its designated session hours.

One of my favorite things about the water park at the North Arundel Aquatic Center is the whirlpool. It is the circular part of the lake where the current of water flows in a circle. Once you are inside the moving area of the lake, the current will easily take you in a circle. It’s like the joy of water!
Be sure to arrive early to get your water park session as sessions sometimes sell out. Once you have paid for entry you are given a wristband and tickets and everyone lines up in the corridor to wait for the start time.
In addition to the standard changing rooms for men and women, there is a family locker with two private bathrooms and a toilet. Lockers are available, or if you don’t have valuables, many people leave their bags on the small bleachers overlooking the water park.

However, there are many different types… Unless you live on one of the beaches, getting to the beach usually involves a plane ride or a cross-country trip by station wagon. Well, be strong, water lovers. There is a new type of water park that brings that family closer to home.

Quietly in the past few years, one of America’s street icons has been developing themed water parks with the idea of bringing the ocean to Central America. Flume rides, hot tubs, splash pads, water slides, geysers, sprinklers, swimming pools, spas, fitness centers, shuffleboard, air hockey and foosball are now available at a Holiday Inn near you!
In fact, it makes some kind of sense when you remember that Holiday Inn was the first hotel chain to boast a pool throughout the property. That success, achieved sometime in the middle of the last century, continues to be renewed: now a new type of affordable, family-oriented vacation is being introduced by Holiday Inn. With 12 locations in some unusual, non-touristy locations, Holiday Inn Water Park makes a great destination for families who don’t have the time, money or inclination to take a full-on outdoor vacation. In addition, water parks are built indoors, so there is no weather for a family vacation.
I have to admit, this development surprised me. Who would have thought? Starting with the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites in Maple Grove, Minn., I decided to visit the hotel’s 12th water-park hotel, which opened on Jan. 30.
Maple Grove water park, 25,000 square feet and Venetian-themed, includes an arcade, four-story water slides, a 20-person spa, Bambini Pisina children’s pool and activity pool with water slides -basketball. The Venice theme park features cobblestone streets, gondolas, a glittering ceiling and a replica of the Ponte di Rialto.

The hotel’s two restaurants, Palazzo Ristorante and Concessioni, offer a variety of menu options, from light meals to full meals. And, like Holiday Inn hotels, children under 12 eat free when they order from the kids’ menu and are accompanied by an adult. You can’t make kids friendlier than that!
The hotel has 136 rooms, about 50 of which are suites – some with standard double rooms and sofa beds and others, aimed at large families, with king-size beds and Sony PlayStations. As a business traveler (and family traveler) I appreciate that the Holiday Inn offers free high-speed wireless Internet access in its rooms. You read that right – $9.99 per day with no additional fees!
There are even more amazing prices. Although they vary from hotel to hotel, they are generally very family friendly and budget friendly. Rates generally range from $150 to $700 per room per night for a suite that sleeps 12, including access to the water park.

Great Wolf Lodge has several restaurants, including sit-down restaurants and a Dunkin’ Donuts. Perryville is close to Havre de Grace, which is great for a day trip on the water.
Big Kahuna’s Water Park is located off the New Jersey Turnpike, usually less than an hour’s drive from Wilmington. The indoor water park has a lazy river, children’s slides, a children’s pool and a lap pool.
