Two Master Bedroom House Plans – I am a crazy sleeper (if what my wife says is true). Allegedly, I snore…but other than that, I hid from assassins (in our bedroom — at 3:00 am) and once almost broke my leg while kicking an attacking swan (in our bedroom – -). at about the same hour at night). To be honest, I can vaguely remember moving a really heavy potted plant from its bedside nightstand to my side – over its sleeping head, on my knees, barely keeping my balance and my grip. (What could go wrong?) So, with people like me in mind, let’s take a look at a growing trend in home design—the inclusion of two master bedrooms in the floor plan.
Until recently, the idea of two master suites in a home was rare — or at least, it was rarely suggested — because of the stigma attached to couples not sharing the same bedroom. But the fact is, more and more homeowners are finding home plans that include two master bedrooms — and for good reason.

Of course, the aforementioned snoring problem is always there. Snoring Snoring or perhaps, mutual snoring, is celebrated in nightly snoring festivals. Regardless, hearing someone snore can ruin one’s hopes for a good night’s sleep (or so I’m told), and a separate master suite can provide the ultimate solution to that particular problem. (…a solution that is, by far, more socially acceptable than murder)

Beyond the snoring, however, the reality is that as baby boomers age into their 60s and 70s, multi-generational families are becoming more common. Second master suites can provide a greater sense of personal space and independence for boomers’ aging parents when retirement home options are not desirable or possible. Similarly, a second master provides homeowners with a more comfortable space for boomerang children who may go “back to the nest” for any reason.
Another reason to consider a second master may be to accommodate a couple’s different and/or demanding work schedules. A partner leaving early or coming home late for work can cause major disruptions and at times create friction in the relationship.
Additionally, some homeowners often host out-of-town visitors and want to provide their temporary guests with a real sense of home away from home — a sleeping space that’s more comfortable than an “extra bedroom.”

For example, you can have two masters at the same level, or one at the master level and the other at a level above or below.
